Editorial for October .....
Autumn is here and after a quiet August, September has been quite busy.
On 6th we had the Annual Autumn Show and after a hot dry Summer vegetables were in short supply but other classes were fine
On 13th it was the Annual Scarecrow Festival at the Cressing Community Church with some very clever entries which looked like real people as you approached.
Also on 13th it was National Heritage Open Day and All Saints Church was open to visitors with exhibits and bell ringing and at 4.00 it was Assembly Bangers with hymns from school assemblies with the choir and a full church joining in .
However at 3.00 the thunderstorm struck with torrential rain just as the scarecrows were about to be judged. But in spite of the rain it was a great afternoon and some of us managed to visit both events.
These events take a great deal of time and effort to organise, so a big thanks to everyone from both our churches who worked so hard to make the day a success.
At the end of the month on 26th it was the Events Committee Lunch at St. Barnabas.
You can now get your pumpkins ready for Halloween and don't forget we alter the clocks at the end of the month.
